Hand & wrist trauma
Fractures of the fingers, hand and wrist, managed with closed reduction and casting, K-wire fixation or plating.
Orthopaedic trauma, paediatric trauma, hand surgery.
Profile
I am an orthopaedic surgeon. I completed my MS Orthopaedics at MGM Medical College and Hospital, Navi Mumbai (2023–2026), where I trained as a Junior Resident in a busy trauma and OPD service. I did district residency postings as a Junior Resident at NMMC General Hospital, Vashi and the Sub District Hospital, Panvel. My training has also included Obstetrics & Gynaecology, General Surgery, Medicine and Anaesthesiology.
My main clinical interest is hand surgery: fractures of the hand and wrist, tendon repair, wound management and skin cover. Alongside it I have a strong interest in paediatric orthopaedics, which is where my thesis and published research sit.
Services
The conditions and injuries I treat.
Fractures of the fingers, hand and wrist, managed with closed reduction and casting, K-wire fixation or plating.
Repair of cut and ruptured flexor and extensor tendons in the hand and forearm.
Wound management and skin grafting for open injuries of the hand and limbs.
CRIF, ORIF and plating, interlocking nailing, PFN and external fixation for long-bone and periarticular fractures.
Children’s fractures and their follow-up, and guided growth for angular deformities around the knee.
ATLS-certified first assessment and stabilisation of the injured patient, from the emergency department to theatre.
Cases & research
Work I have presented and published. Patient details are withheld.
A right open distal femur fracture complicated by popliteal artery injury, and its combined orthopaedic and vascular management.
Cast realignment in paediatric patients using stationery: a low-cost, practical technique for correcting cast position at the bedside.
A retrospective study of 620 paediatric long-bone fractures at a tertiary care hospital in Mumbai. Malunion occurred in 9.2%, most often in diaphyseal forearm fractures (24.8%). Age over 10, conservative treatment, initial translation over 50% and diaphyseal location were independent predictors, helping to flag high-risk children early for surgery.
